PATSY MINK now streaming at PBS.org

PATSY MINK: AHEAD OF THE MAJORITY is streaming live at PBS.org now through July 31 in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Title IX.  The film was selected to be part of ITVS’ Women and Girls Lead Initiative, an innovative public media campaign designed to celebrate, educate, and activate women, girls and their allies across the globe to address the challenges of the 21st century.

As stated on the initiative’s website:  ”On issues that matter, women’s voices are missing. Only 25 percent of news subjects are women, and those who do get attention often conform to stereotypes as victims, passive bystanders, or sex symbols. Yet a wave of films is showcasing women and girls as leaders, and movements for gender equity are surging in country after country.

Women and Girls Lead brings to life these stories of extraordinary women and girls captured by the world’s best independent documentary filmmakers. Our campaign reflects the groundswell of stories about women emerging in the U.S. and abroad, and encompasses both new and archive films. It connects key stakeholders to discuss and participate in critical issues facing local communities, the nation, and the world.”

We’re honored and proud that PATSY MINK is part of this exciting and ground-breaking initiative.  It is a testament to the power of Rep. Mink’s story and the impact she made.
