Making Waves Films LLC is a documentary production company in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, established by independent filmmaker Kimberlee Bassford.  Our mission is to produce social issue, cultural, historical and environmental documentary films that advance social justice, strengthen our connections to one another and deepen understanding of the world.

Joining the team of HEADHUNT REVISITED

Kimberlee Bassford is hired as a producer on the Mytinger Project’s documentary in production HEADHUNT REVISITED about American artist Caroline Mytinger who in the 1920s spent four years living and painting in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands and whose work now inspires two contemporary artists:  American photographer and adventurer Michele Westmorland, who goes on an expedition to retrace Caroline’s original journey, and Papua New Guinea painter Jeffry Feeger. Kimberlee will be overseeing the film’s funding and distribution strategy.

PATSY MINK streaming online through March

PATSY MINK: AHEAD OF THE MAJORITY is streaming live at now through the end of March as part of ITVS’ Women and Girls Lead #SheDocs Online Film Festival.  The festival celebrates Women’s History Month by bringing the best independent documentaries that tell the stories of women and girls defying odds and rising to leadership positions throughout history.  We’re honored to be part of such an important initiative.
